Murano

These are a few of the pictures Mark took while we were traveling to Murano on our private taxi boat. Our hotel arranged a private ride and demonstration at a Murano glass factory all for free. It was amazing to learn about the glass blowers and how they learn the art. The glass work was amazing to see. The gallery had over 9 rooms and of course a gift shop. I could afford the gift shop, but probably nothing in the gallery. We were able to talk a lot with the Italian gentleman who was our tour guide (salesman). He told us how he is married to an American. He talked about politics and how teachers are not appreciated. His wife is also a teacher.
When we returned to Venice we decided to go out and see the open air markets (fruits/veggies/fish). It was a sight to see. The fish market I must admit was a little strong smelling for me.(Yuck!) Mark loved it and would have enjoyed walking in there even longer. I met him outside. We walked throughout the streets and went into some shops. We grabbed a slice of pizza on the go and headed back to rest. It is very warm today and the sun is intense. After an hour and a half nap we are ready to go for our next outing.
Tomorrow morning we take the vaporetto to the train station and then get to experience the Eurorail to Florence. Since it is a travel day I may be unable to blog. Hopefully we will get to our new hotel and city without any problems. I will be back online as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for me of my Italy adventure.
