Venice




Here are a few pictures we have taken. I have a ton more and will post more tomorrow. I am going to create a site that will also have all the pictures. For now, these will do. Mark and I walked all over Venice today. We went to St. Mark's Basilica and to the Doge's Palace. Wow...the architecture is breathtaking. We went to the Rialto bridge area and to the Bridge of Sighs. We had rain on and off, but it was still beautiful. The weather was nice today since we had overcast skies.
We also went to St. Mark's Square and watched the dualing orchestras. Very nice! We also had our first real Italian meal out. We had some pizza and a bellini. Delicious. Now we are back in our hotel to rest. Tomorrow we are heading to Murano to see the glassblowers and hopefully get some beads or nice jewelry. I did find a beautiful glass ring today that has a blue flower. I just love it and have worn it all day.

One thing I am having trouble with is how to have nice hair in Venice. Heehee...I guess if that is my only problem all is well. It is humid when I am drying my hair so I have to resort to a ponytail.
More pictures to come tomorrow. I will post once we get back from our outings. Enjoy!! Becky, just want to say thanks for the meal out! Now I see why you wanted to treat us; we will be so poor when we return to Colorado. (Hahahaha)

    Love the pics of Venice!! We had a lot of rain here today...of course, after I watered all the plants in the yard! We went to a really cool antique mall...bought some "priceless" cups! Have fun on your second full day of Venice! Sister Kitty took a nap with me today...she's a love! Baloo is still being a bit kitty shy. I'm still working on him!!

    Find and follow the locals with the "white plastic grocery bags"...ask where the mercado is...buy some bread, cheese, tomatoes, etc...quick and cheap way to eat! I'm just saying!! xoxox

    We did find a mercado. Today when we get back from Murano we will buy some picnic food for our meal later. Just had a filling breakfast at the hotel. I can't believe we leave Venice in the morning. So happy to hear that sister kitty took a nap with you. She loves to go to bed. Baloo may come around. He likes to be coy.

    Hey Becky, they didn't sell any beads without them being in jewelry, but I did get you a couple of the Pandora charms in Murano. Hopefully you will like the colors I selected for you. :-)
    Have fun rafting. Can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures. Have fun! Hey, if I can climb 414 stairs Russ can do the 2 hundred something at the Seven Falls. Heehee
